a petite waterfall, a mysterious lil swimmin hole, a dead snake, & patriots for peace in the great smokes

Back in the Smokes last weekend for a dip in one of da purdiest lil swimmin holes --- Midnite Hole. The typical National Park visitors, the tourons and hooved locusts (Ed Abbey, 1979), were near but far from OUR swimmin hole. I shared in the plunge with a few new buds - whom I call the Jefferson County Patriots (my neighbors that grew up in and (even) returned to Dandridge after college). Good day together-- good for the soul and good to have a few new buds, especially because they like mountains. Found out they have a lot of secret spots --- between the 'Dridge and Max Patch!

As you can see the water is deep, emerald green when the sun hits it, but it ain't no temperate swimmin tub. This could be some of the coldest and clearest water east of California. Loved it!
