Tag Virus in the Blogosphere

I've seen the "Seven Facts" meme travelling around the blogosphere and I've finally been tagged. "Each person tagged gives seven random facts about themselves. Those tagged need to write on their blogs seven facts, as well as the rules of the game. You need to tag seven others and list their names on your blog. You have to leave those you plan on tagging a note in their comments so they know that they have been tagged and need to read your blog". You know I love lists so here goes...

First, I need to reacquaint myself with the precise defn of fact. Lets see what my primary source of definitions states. The unabridged dictionary.com reads –1. something that actually exists; reality; truth: Your fears have no basis in fact. 2. something known to exist or to have happened: Space travel is now a fact. 3. a truth known by actual experience or observation; something known to be true: Scientists gather facts about plant growth. 4. something said to be true or supposed to have happened: The facts given by the witness are highly questionable.

Seven facts about me:
{one}
I love critters. I have a very special relationship with three domestic ones - they have affected me profoundly and I love them each wonderfully. I think there will be many more to come in my future and I welcome them. I really love wild critters too. Especially playful raptors, amplexising frogs, benthic macroinvertebrates, and dirty hikers.

{two}
"Need Less" is my zen goal in life. I really like the idea of living independently, minimizing my footprint (I am a second-hand queen) and keeping my lifestyle options open - even if it means leaving everything I own behind (but I predictably become attached to peeps and wild places). The upside is that I have more money to spend on the intangible and fleeting things I really love, like food and travel. The drawback is that I own the world's ugliest and most uncomfortable couch (handpicked from the YMCA Thrift Store).

{three}
The one brand spanky new thang I really, really want to own is a couch. A red, plush couch - comfortable enough to sleep on, for two people to sleep on, for two people and three dogs to sleep on.

{four}
Most of my very best friends have emerald or yellow topaz birthstones.

{five}
I like saying weird words like Ranunculus, Chilhowhee, and peripheral. Over and over. For no other reason but because they sound funny.

{six}
If I had to choose only one food to eat, it would be tomatoes and avocado crustinis. Second runner up would be eggplant pizza. Third would be smoked salmon. If I had to choose only one food item , it would be coffee (duh).

{seven}
I don't have any irrational fears. I save my irrationality for incessant neurotic worrying about: creating eternal happiness, paying my bills, and (ashamedly) wanting to be skinny.

So there you go ... seven facts. The idea is to pass this on, but I don't feel comfortable telling others what they should write on their blogs. So I'll leave it up to you, because it's always fun to hear from others. Tell me a little-known fact about yourself.

  1. Fact 1. I love to eat critters.
    Fact 2. I disagree. Your current couch is rather comfortable.
    Fact 3. I love to sleep on couches.
    Fact 4. I have a birthmark. Does that count?
    Fact 5. Your fifth fact is preposterous, word which I love, in addition to synergistic and eerie.
    Fact 6. Vegetables are not food. Vegetables are what food eats.
    Fact 7. You look just fine.

  2. re: 4-- definitely
    re: 5-- what about inauspicious
    re: 7-- fact 8: i HATE fine. do you mean phine as in finer than frog hair, or simply fine, like ehhhh, alright? i consciously try never to use fine to describe my state of mind or another's appearance, it is too nondescript.
