Meanwhile I was calling him up from another Virginia national park site while lying by a pool and accessing wireless internet. Am I still rubbing it in? The way I see it: diversity among the national park units is a wonderful thing and he drew the short stick. Anyway, during that summer of survey administration in Shenandoah, Kerry was: a) progressing towards obtaining a Master's degree; b) downing excessive amounts of Dr. Pepper in effort to stay awake between opportunities to stalk potential survey participants;
c) spending evenings in the "mouse house" playing footsie with other technicians;
and d) being mildly entertained by a clifftop performance of the Granola Girl's Ballet.
Kerry paid his time as they say in many Master's programs, and gladly wrapped up his sentence by achieving his first scientific publication. I paid my time once but never did successfully rework my thesis into a journal article and I probably never will as I can't bear being rejected again. Congratulations on your effort and first publication Kerry!
Wow! I'm not sure what I did to deserve such praise but I'll take it! BTW-I noticed that your pants have like four pockets on the legs; what do you put in those? Extra shoe laces? Candy?
