Last spring I decided to opt for a life filled with passionate purpose and blissful peace; as such, I had a lovely summer making peace a priority. I spent the summer achieving a peaceful state in life by surrounding myself with good, positivity, and nature; and regularly participating in things that brought me peace. The most worthwhile therapies were those spent producing the "happy chemicals" - serotonin and oxytocin. I spent many afternoons elevating my heart rate and feelings of joy by getting high in the mountains of SW VA, and exchanging hugs and laughter with loved ones. My summer is coming to an end (it is offcially over but I haven't noticed other than the sun goes down around 7) as I'll be moving to TN to be gainfully employed as a recreation specialist for a federal land management agency.
It is not often that one gets to take a 2 month hiatus from one's life/career to spend their time, energy, and money how they alone wish, and I am thankful that I had the opportunity to do so. I am grateful that rather than worry during the last two months about career and quality of life decisions, I opted to spend my energy finding balance among loved ones and the topography of Virginia.
