For awhile I thought Momo might have scratched Mr. Man's eyeballs out so that she could be the ONLY cat and get all my love and all the Fancy Feast. A couple weeks ago, she might have said: "Meow, I've finally succeeded in obtaining ALL momma's capacity to which she can love cats, meow, life is good, meow, now can I have some sumptuous roasted chicken liver, hold the meat by-products!" For the first few days of Mister's disappearance, Momo was a purring, motoring, eatting machine - happier than a pig in shit - and also enjoying loving and sitting all over me without having to compete (and lose) with Mister. "Me, me, me, love me!, purrrrr!" She had the loudest purr ever, like an idling lawnmower. "Purrrrr!" Lately I think Momo has realized Mister's disappearance is permanent, and her only cat syndrome - her utter happiness - has turned to sadness. "Me-owwwwwhhhhhh." She cries out the window at night, especially last night as the wind hollowed and trees snapped, beckoning Mister to come home and be safe in the Nichols haven. This morning she looked depressed, eyes sunken and red as if she really had cried, or had a long night boozing. I don't know what to do for Momo, I can't get her another tomler companion. She is so desperate for another animal's affection that she has been cuddling and playing rolly-polley with Ember. I like that, they are sisters. Everyday in Momo's life really is a blessing since she almost died four months ago, and our lil beastie family will get through our loss by counting our blessings.
Me and Momo take to the backporch for solar recuperation II
In loving memory of Mister - close to my heart forever
LOTS OF HUGS TO MY LIL OPAL...I KNOW SHE IS SAD...AT THIS TIME YOU MUST CONTINUALLY REMIND HER HOW SPECIAL SHE IS....AND THAT ANSELL WILL ALWAYS BE WITH BOTH OF YOU....THAT OPAL AND EMBER ARE FRIENDS IS GOOD, BUT BE PREPARED THAT WHEN FLEABAG GETS THERE YOU ARE UP AGAINST A WHOLE NEW SET OF ISSUES. ALWAYS KEEP OPAL IN THE HOUSE....DON'T ALLOW HER TO ROAM FREELY ...NO MATTER WHAT....THEY WERE YOUR CHILDREN FIRST AND EXHIBIT THE SAME JEALOUSIES THAT HUMAN CHILDREN DO IN SITUATIONS WHERE NEWBIES COME ALONG.
ReplyDeleteHOPEFULLY IN TIME OPAL WILL CALM DOWN AND BE A VERY LOVING KITTY AGAIN....A BIG NEW DOG WILL BE FORMIDABLE IN SIZE AND IN THE CONTEST FOR ATTENTION.
I LOVE YOU AND AM SO SORRY FOR ANSELLSS DEMISE, THEY WERE A BEAUTIFUL PAIR....AND WE WERE BLESSED TO HAVE HAD THEM BOTH IN OUR LIVES.
HUGS FROM THE WOODS IN PA....
