HOME SKILLET

Weekends at the home of the Nichols Menagerie are returning to normal - me, tomlers, and pupler spent this morning birdwatching, listening to NPR, and reading the newspaper. Mr. Skittles and Momo Skidmark enjoyed birdwatching a great deal - they spotted appropriately named yellow-rumped warblers, chickadees, and tufted titmice. Ember particularly enjoyed listening to NPR - there was a diddy on fish sounds (fish DO communicate) from an ichthyologist at Auburn University. Ember was very curious about the minnow and darter sounds - maybe she thought the male darters were trying to attract her as a mate. This morning I learned to appreciate the expression the dog at my homework. Ms. Ember decided to tear apart and spread the NY Times throughout the bedroom. I've yet to teach her how to operate the vacuum but she has learned to come, sit, and let me know when it is time to go outside.

On Saturday morning Mr. Skittles and Momo Skidmark took to the backporch for solar recuperation and backyard birdwatching

Mr. Skittles - overloved & overjoyed
