The Dirty Bird

You can eat fish outta the Pigeon River after a 20 year ban. The Pigeon's headwaters are in NC and is/was polluted by paper mills. The Pigeon crosses into TN and occurs in the watershed that I help protect. I got to work with TDEC, the TN Aquarium, and a bunch of 5th graders to stock sturgeon. We stocked 1300 2-3 year old sturgeon but only 3% are predicted to survive until reproductive age.
