Wind flowers and dormant lions

Diego really wants to have his own blog but in the meantime he can share mine. He emailed me this morning to let me know he hiked in the Spanish mountains yesterday. I wasn't satisfied with just posting a blog with his pictures and a brief statement about his trip, so here is an embellishment: Diego tried to run away into the mountains above his parents house in Spain but he couldn't survive after several sleepless nights in 30 degree temps. He couldn't craft a suitable shelter from ice-sculpted cliffs and junipers, and he couldn't season wind-flowers so they were edible or at least tolerable. Nearly frostbiten and emaciated, he headed back to the valley where his family greeted him with growlers full of local wine, and lots of cheese and tubed meats.
