For the umpteenth time I hiked in Mt Rogers NRA with friends this weekend. Diego, Angela, Adam, the lovable Jackson, and I enjoyed being the highest folks in the state of Virginia; highest in terms of elevation. I learned this: Quien tiene un amigo, tiene un tesoro.
On another note, Kerry "not in la la land" Wood and I were included in a Roanoke Times (VA) newspaper article over the weekend. The article features the AT and competing issues/philosophies that are and may change the mission and the spirit of the AT. It is titled An Uncertain Path but don't let that fool you - Kerry and I surely won't let the Trail and the trail experience be subdued by axe, plow, sprawl, shelter creep, etc .
